(This is from the back of the book)
The Baker Family Adventures series follows the exciting lives of Mr. and Mrs. Baker and their four children: responsible Phil, sensible Abby, daring Andy, and inquisitive Tom. The Bakers are a Christian homeschooling family who, in their desire to help others, frequently find themselves in dangerous situations where they must grow in courage and learn important lessons of godliness.
This is only have of the story! The Baker Family Adventures are as adventurous as Jonathan Park, yet mysterious like Sherlock Holmes. Suspense is everywhere. From the first time you pick up the book, you do not want to put it down! (It's like your fingers get glued to the book until you finish it! :) ) This series has become my personal favorite and that is why I am sharing them with you.
To start off Summer of Suspense follows the Bakers and the cousin Millie as they start out the summer. Little do they know how hard it is to dwell with their, lets say, modern cousin. While the Bakers start off the summer with chores and horse back riding, Millie is inside with her iPod and iPhone. She's you're regular teenager. The Bakers begin to dread the rest of the summer, that's until Millie goes missing one day. Before they know it, they are confronted with one danger after another in their quest to find Millie. Summer of Suspense is a mix of horses, adventure, mystery, and a major plot that gets them caught in an unsuspecting situation, which could cost their lives forever. Summer of Suspense is filled with mystery and intrigue and contains lessons of Christian courage, humility submission to authority and repentance before God and man. I highly recommend this book as a family read aloud or just on your own. There is nothing inappropriate at all, as C. R. Hedgecock has written with pure novelty and mystery. Very well written, suspense in a every corner, you do not want to miss out on this book!
Suddenly, she heard footfalls behind her. She tried to turn around, but couldn't. It felt like a bad dream. Oh God, help me! she found herself praying. Her senses became acute, and her throat was dry. Somehow, she expected something awful to happen.
