What Inspires You? answers from Kate, Jazzy and myself.
What time of year are you most inspired to write? Jazzy: I think it's around Christmas time that I'm most inspired to write sad, emotional stories, and summer time that I'm inspired to write happy, adventurous stories. Kate: I'm probably most inspired to write in springtime, autumn, or Christmastime. (Anything poetic.) : ) Holly: Mostly autumn and winter. In the summer I can be inspired by something, but only on a certain day or when I'm in a certain mood.
What inspires you the most? Jazzy: Music. Music runs through my soul, and to my writings. It's awesome. :) Kate: Sometimes I'm inspired by a person, a picture, or a string of words in a certain order. Holly: Emotional, thrilling, or adventurous music, pictures and different people (on occasion.)
What do you do when inspiration is slow in coming? Jazzy: I listen to music, and read. I read stories to give me new ideas to write my own. Kate: I read when I'm not very inspired. That helps a lot. : ) Holly: I would have to agree with Jazzy and Kate, that reading does help. I also sometimes go walk outside or put on some music. Most of the time I will wait, and then something or someone will suddenly inspire me! :)
Do you have a special place, way, hat etc. when you write?
Jazzy: At my desk, at the piano, or outside when I'm on the farm. Kate: I write in my bedroom, at my desk, or in the living room. : ) Holly: I mostly write at a table or on the computer. I also like to write with my cowgirl hat on sometimes (I know, kinda of silly!) And on rainy days I can write the best and with emotion better than any other day.
